The town of Celle is situated approximately 40km northeast of Hanover and 100km south of Hamburg. It is the gateway to the Lüneburger Heide (Lüneburg Heath). With 70,000 inhabitants, the residential town of Celle, together with the wider district of Celle, is an ideal place to live and work. Offering “living history”, the picturesque old town centre with its castle and more than 480 half-timbered houses - constructed over a period of 5 centuries - make Celle a unique tourist experience that attracts around two million visitors each year.
